The Drop: All in No Exit

All In. No Exit.

There’s a difference between being in a relationship
and being all in.

I didn’t always know the difference.

At one point, love still meant holding something back.
Keeping a piece of myself guarded.
Leaving room—just in case things didn’t work out.

Not intentionally.
Just… quietly.

Like most people do.

Loving With an Exit Plan

We don’t say it out loud, but a lot of relationships are built this way.

“I’m here… as long as it works.”
“I’m committed… until it gets too hard.”
“I love you… but I’ll protect myself first.”

It feels smart.
Safe.
Controlled.

But it’s also limited.

Because you can’t fully build something
you’re already prepared to walk away from.

What Changed With You

With you, it was different.

Not perfect.
Not easy.
Not without moments where we both could’ve chosen distance instead of depth.

But somewhere along the way—
I stopped loving you like I needed an escape

I stopped holding back pieces of myself
in case I needed them later.

I stopped leaving space for an exit.

All In Means…

All in means I chose this.

Not just you—
but us.

The life we’re building.
The growth we’ve gone through.
The versions of ourselves we’ve had to become to meet each other fully.

It means when things get hard, I don’t start questioning if I should leave.

I start asking:
“How do we get through this?”

No Exit Doesn’t Mean No Effort

This isn’t passive love.

This isn’t “we’re here so we stay.”

This is active.
Intentional.
Daily.

It’s choosing patience when it would be easier to shut down.
Choosing honesty when it would be easier to stay quiet.
Choosing connection when distance feels safer.

What We Built

After everything—after time, growth, life shifting around us—

what we have isn’t fragile.

It’s tested.

And not because everything has been perfect,
but because we stayed long enough
to build something real.

Eleven Years Later

Eleven years in…

And I don’t love you out of habit.
Or history.
Or convenience.

I love you because I chose you—
fully.

Then.

And now.

Faith in This Too

I don’t think this kind of love happens by accident.

I think God honors commitment.
Not just the feeling—but the decision.

The staying.
The working.
The building.

Even when it would be easier not to.

No Exit

There’s no version of this where I’m halfway in.

No quiet backup plan.
No emotional distance waiting in the wings.

Just this:

I’m here.
I chose you.

I choose you.
